Steal was formed in 2003 by Mark Fulford and Jill van der Meulen (now Pritchard), both of whom went on to play for Great Britain. The club fielded formidable Open and Mixed teams in its first three seasons, consistently finishing top 15 in the country, and pulled in players from Leeds, Hull and Manchester.
After a successful three-year stint in the Womens division too, some players moved on but Steal carried on training and competing in Mixed and Open Tour lead by Si East.
Benefiting from the development programmes of the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam, the club continues to nurture local talent and introduce new players to the sport. In 2013, Sam Rayner took over from Doug Neal with the aim to get Steal playing in the top half of Mixed Tour again.
Mark Fulford has moved to Australia and continues to play Ultimate with their national masters team.
